Interview with Clavet Coach

Borg's Blog. FINAL!!! Carenport vs. Humboldt

Martin Berg introduced both teams, and here we go. This looks like it'll be a really close game, They've been alternating getting points so far, and it's tied at 4 right now. Humboldt is pulling ahead now, the score is 7-4 now, thanks to some great serving by their #4. Timeout called by Carenport as Humboldt pulls up their lead 10-5. Humboldt is still ahead by five, the score's 14-9 now. Carenport has called another time out now that Humboldt's lead has increased to 8, the score is now 20-12. Humboldt is getting closer to the 25th point. It's 24-15. Humboldt just won the first set by ten points, the final score: 25-15.

The second set is just starting here now, Humboldt gets the first point. Carenport gets their first point with a huge spike. Humboldt starts to pull ahead again, 7-4. Humboldt gets another four consecutive points, making it 11-4, and Carenport calls another timeout. Carenport gets their first points in awhile thanks to some nice jump serves by their #2. 14-8 for Humboldt. Carenport is closing the gap between the scores up pretty quick here, it's now 17-15, and Humboldt calls a timeout to regroup. It's getting to be a close game now, Carenport has just tied it up at 21. Time for their first lead? Yeah there it goes. 22-21 as Carenport takes their very first lead of the game. It's now 24-24 and this is getting really intense. One team has to get two points to win now. They're going up point for point now, they're tied at 26. Carenport wins the set 29-27, and it's going to the third set.

Sorry I had to miss the first bit of this set my laptop just died, the score is tied at nine right now, and the mood is just barely contained within the limits of ridiculously tense. It's really close, they're still just going back and forth points-wise, it was tied at twelve, Carenport got the 13th point, and the teams switched sides. Neither team seems to be able to secure the lead, it's tied at fifteen now. Humboldt is pulling ahead now, the score 20-16. Humboldt just called a timeout, the score is now 22-20 for Humboldt. It's 24-22 for Humboldt now, they only need one more point to win this. And yes there we go. Humboldt just won the gold medal for the Provincial 4A Girls Volleyball. BAM. Wow. That was intense. In every way possible. Wow. This is Borg Lefsrud signing off, for the last time, it's been a pleasure to blog for you guys, don't party too hard, and goodnight. :)

And Even More Streeters!

Borg's Blog Clavet - MJ Vanier Bronze Medal Game

So the first set is underway and the teams seem pretty even so far. The score's been close all the way along, the score is 13-11 for Clavet. Clavet just won the first set by a score of 25-21.
The second set just started, it's 8-4 for Clavet, but MJ Vanier seems to be keeping up at the very least. MJ Vanier just called a timeout at 12-5 for Clavet. It's now 14-7 Clavet. Now Clavet just won the second set rather easily it seems, the score was 25-9. Next up is the FINAL!!! :)

Interview with Humboldt Coach

Borg's Blog Pre-game thing.

Howdy. I'm here in the Sr. Gym. MJ Vanier and Clavet are just warming up for their semifinal game. By the way this is the last semifinal game to go before the final. Exciting?? I suppose. :) Alright it's about to start. Here weee goooo.
Oh and don't for get to check out everything else on the blog, interviews, and the streeters. I think they've got another streeters up. Decent. Have at it.

Interview with Caronport Parent

Yet More Streeters!

Borg's Blog Clavet-Carenport Game-Last set.

Okay the Jr. Gym's closed down now, so I guess that solves the problem of running back and forth trying to catch both games.
So we're about halfway through the third set between Carenport and Clavet here, the score's 13-10 in favour of Clavet. Carenport just called a timeout at 15-11, Clavet. Both teams like kinda exhausted. Haha. I would be too. Clavet's pulling ahead now, 18-12. Carenport seems to be closing the gap now, it's 20-18 and Clavet just called a time out. Carenport's pulling ahead! 21-20. Clavet called another time out after Carenport's next point. Clavet's tied it up at 22. The tie moved up to 25 now, and it looks like this could go on for a lil while. Nope maybe not. Carenport just won by the narrow lead of 27-25. And that's that.

Borg's Blog Score Updates

Hi. Right now in the Sr. Gym we've got Clavet playing Cavenport. It's into the second set here, it's a really close game, 24-22 for Cavenport. Cavenport just won the second set, but Clavet won the first set so we're going into the third. I'm going to the Jr. Gym to see how things are going there, and then I'll come back for the rest of this game. Probably.

More Streeters!

Streeters!

Borg's Blog MJ Vanier - Unity Quarterfinal Game!

Unity-MJ Vanier Querterfinal Game here and it just started. This gym is right packed and everybody's excited for this match.
MJ Vanier takes a quick lead thanks to server #6, 5-0 for MJ Vanier. Unity closed the gap real quick there, 6-8, MJ Vanier. They're getting lots of really good volleys here. Timeout called for Unity. At 15-10 for MJ Vanier. MJ Vanier still holding their lead with a score of 19 - 15. Timeout for Unity at 21 -16 MJ Vanier. I'd like to comment on "Movember". Lotsa real greasy 'staches in here. And MJ Vanier wins the first set, score 25 - 16.
The second set has started, and they Unity takes they're first lead of the game, with a score of 6 - 4. MJ Vanier pulling ahead again, the score's now 12-7. Timeout called by Unity again, at 14-7, MJ Vanier. MJ Vanier throwing up two great blocks in a row. Unity's getting denied. Yet another timeout called for Unity at 18-7, MJ Vanier.
Controversial call of the game, when a MJ Vanier player appeared to palm the ball but, the ref called it an in ball. The score's 20-9. MJ Vanier. Unity picked up a couple hard earned points, 23-11, MJ Vanier. Then a couple more, 24-14. MJ Vanier calls their first timeout of the game after Unity has started fighting back for several points. Unity fought for it, but in the end MJ Vanier gets the final point to win the set, and the game, 25 - 16.

Borg's Blog Melfort-Humboldt Game

Hey it's Borg again, we're in the Jr. Gym watching the Melfort-Humboldt game where it's 22-10 in the second set for Melfort. And Melfort just won, the score was 25-12.

Up next we've got the MJ Vanier vs. Unity, which should be pretty entertaining. In the mean time anybody reading this should definately check out Keenan Lang's interviews with coaches, players, parents, and others I'm sure, and also our streeter's videos by Kaitlin Pardis and Nicole Wagner, and anything else that's going up. I'm not keeping track of all of it but I can guarantee it's ALL worth watching. And thanks to all our viewers for watching we're almost up to 4000 views now which is amazing, and it makes everything worth it. Thanks. :)

Borg's Blog BEAR.

It's been confirmed, there is definately a bear/cougar mascot running around the school somewhere, I guess that would make it half confirmed, since nobody really seems to know whether it's a bear or a cougar. It's hanging around the Clavet game so I'm assuming it's a cougar. So keep your children close folks. :) There's a genetically confused mascot on the loose.
In other news, Clavet is playing Melville in the Sr. Gym, it's the first set, and Clavet's up 23-21.
In the Jr. Gym, Humboldt is about to play Melfort, they just finished warmups.

Borg's Blog. In the morning.

Hello again everyone, and good morning. Welcome to the second day of provincials. Today is ALL PLAYOFFS which I'm sure comes with some added intensity and excitement and other such things. Right meow I'm watching the round 1 of playoffs between LCBI and Melfort. LCBI won the first set 25-15, Melfort won the second set 25-22.
We're now well into the third set and it's 24-24. Both teams are playing really well. Okay and now Melfort won by a close score of 27-25.

Meanwhile in the Sr. Gym, Lumsden is playing Birch Hills. The first set just ended, Lumsden won 25-17, and the second set is just getting underway. Lumsden seems to be taking a quick early lead, they're up by seven points, the score's 7-0. The serve goes to Birch Hills now. Real impact player for Lumsden is their #4, with great offense, as well as #13 who really helps her team with her front row defense. It's now 16-6 in Lumsden's favour and they seem to be taking a rather quick and easy lead.
Lumsden had a seemingly easy win there over Birch Hills, final score: 25-11.

Good Morning!

Good morning to all our viewers and visitors! The games begin here at 10 am CST (about 30 minutes from the time of this post) so we will begin live streaming and gathering more content to post for you at that time. See you then and enjoy!

Borg's Blog Carenport - Melville Game

Hi I'm at the Carenport - Melville game now, and it's frankly rather intense. I feel like I've been saying that a lot lately, but hey it' true.

The first set just ended, Carenport won it, 25-17. Real intense. I honestly don't usually get that pumped for volleyball but this stuff is great. By the way definately check out the live stream of this, it'll be stream #2, the button should be right above this post.

We're into the second set now, the score's tied 2-2. It's LOUD. Melville #10 just got a huge hit for the point. It's still really close, 6-5 now. They're getting points back and forth, these are two really equal teams I'd say (skill-wise).

Carenport pulling ahead again now, it's 14-7. Still it's not coming easy, the rallies are super long, neither teams letting it hit the floor all that much. Which is good. Can you tell I'm tired?

Melville closing the gap quick, 15-14, still for Carenport but Melville got the serve and ran away with quite a few points there. It's tied 16-16 now. The fans seem nervous. =) Everybody's nervous I guess, the coaches are calling timeouts every two or three points now.

INTENSE!!! We are all SO pumped.

Okay! Carenport just won 25-22. That was crazy. So Carenport won the whole game there. Good game to both teams though.

Interview with Chelsea, Member of Unity Warriors

Borg's Blog !!!

In the MJ Vanier-LCBI game, MJ Vanier finally won the third set by a score of 25-11, and therefore the game, MJ Vanier is now playing Humboldt. It's the first set and MJ Vanier is ahead at 24-11.

MJ Vanier won the first 25-13 vs. Humboldt. Get ready for the second coming up.

In the Jr. Gym, Clavet finished up their game against Canora, they won it two set to zero, both sets were cloe in the beginning but Clavet's attack turned out to be a little too much for Canora to take. The second set turned out to be very close in the end, but Clavet just won, 26-24, with much thanks to a great serve by Clavet' #6 Kelsey Cooper.

Back to the MJ Vanier - Humboldt game, they've entered the second set now and MJ Vanier is ahead so far by one, the score is 5-4.

In a minute I'll head over to the Jr. Gym to see what's happening there, keep checking back for all the updates. Bye now.

Borg's Blog Score Updates

So the latest scores updates are like this. Canora won against Sen. Myles Venne 2 sets to zero, and MJ Vanier is currently tied for sets with LCBI, they've gone into the third set now and the score is 5-2 for MJ Vanier in the Sr. Gym. Keep checking for more updates later.

Borg's Blog Unity-Caronport Game

The first set was extremely close and intense all the way. Neither team ever really got far ahead of the other and it was a big battle back and forth the whole way, but in the end Caronport pulled ahead just a bit to win the set 25-20 over Unity.

WOW. Caronport's #2 had a huge spike for a point against Unity.

Crazy close second set, even closer than the first. There's a fair amount of enthusiasm in here. Unity won this set 25-22, so it looks like we're going to the third and final set. THERE CAN BEE ONLY ONE...lil Highlander reference there. =) ONE SET TO RULE THEM ALL. And...more. Okay I'm done now. Third set!

In the mean time Melville has beaten Birch Hills 2 sets to zero over in the Jr. Gym.

Unity's pulling ahead now and the score is 21-16. 24-19...? 25-19! Unity wins 25-19. That was exciting. What do you know.

Borg's Blog Update

Oh hello again. Moose Jaw won against Melfort, the first set went to Moose Jaw with a score of 25-14, and so did the second set, score 25-21. The second set was fairly close in the beginning until Moose Jaw pulled away, but it was an overall close set.

Coming up next is the game between the Unity Warriors and the Caronport Cougars, and if it's anything like the last game Unity played it should be exciting. You can feel the intensity building up in here as all the fans stream in to support either side. I'll keep you updated with how this game goes.

Unity-Melville Game!

Unity won the first set in their game against Melville by a score of 25-20. This is a ridiculously fast paced game and there's so many fans in here so the energy is really crazy high. The second set is really close and everybody is so nervous, including me. BAM! The second set and therefore the game goes to Unity by a score of 25-23. That was intense.

Also, in the Lumsden-Canora game, Lumsden won two sets to one.
Caranport won against Birch Hills. Captain Brittany Macfarlin was a real impact player for Caranport, ironically, she used to play for Birch Hills. Grudge match?

Borg's Blog Score Updates and Other Such Things

WOW. There's lots to talk about. Okay. So the latest scores right now:
Cavenport won over Birch Hills, the last set was Cavenport-25, Birch Hills-21. In the Humbolt-LCBI game, Humbolt won the first set 25-11, and LCBI won the second 25-22. The UCHS Warriors are also currently playing in the Sr. Gym against Melville so I'll update those scores later.
There's alot more than just volleyball going on here. The atmosphere is really exciting and we've got a huge amount of team spirit by everybody watching.
Not even to mention all the little kids running around, they add so much happiness and excitement to the atmosphere.

Volleyball isn't the only sport going on here, these kids show that colouring is also big on the agenda. =)

AND let's not forget all the journalism guys and girls working everwhere to give you the best view of what's going on, next to actually being here of course.

Borg's Blog Opening Ceremony and 1st Game

Hello. So the Opening Ceremony just ended, it had kind of a nervous air to it at the start but that was probably just the athlete's excitement for the tournament to get started. Once the speakers started speaking though everybody just relaxed and listened. We had speakers like the mayor, Ken Parker the commissioner, Alysha the captain of the Unity Warriors team, and many others. Also, thanks to Vicki Orobko for MC'ing the Opening Ceremony and organizing it too.
Right now we're waiting for the first game to get going, between the Clavet Cougars and the Sen. Myles Venne Huskies. They're just warming up now, and I'll finish this post after they've played.
Clavet won in a rather convincing way, winning the first set 25-11, and the second 25-14.
The next game up is Carenport vs. Birch Hills so keep checking for more posts because we'll be updating all day long baby.
